UPDATED: WIGHTLINK’S FASTCAT PULLED FROM SERVICE FOR UNKNOWN REASON

The FastCat service between Ryde and Portsmouth has been pulled from service this morning (Thursday) for an unknown reason.

Services on the cross-Solent route have been suspended since 08:45.

No reason for the suspension has been given and Island Echo understands that Wightlink staff members themselves remain in the dark about when service is expected to resume.

All purchased tickets are being accepted on Hovertravel services which, at this time, are very busy as a result.

UPDATE @ 10:00 – Service has resumed.

The 10:35 and 11:35 from Portsmouth have each been delayed by around 20 minutes respectively, as have the 10:45 and 12:05 from Ryde Pier Head.
