REVISED TIMETABLE ON YARMOUTH-LYMINGTON ROUTE AS STAFFING ISSUES CONTINUE

Wightlink will be running a revised timetable on its Yarmouth-Lymington car ferry route tomorrow (Sunday) due to staffing issues.

The cross-Solent operator is continuing to experience problems with absent members of staff, which is impacting the company’s operations at high season.

It has been confirmed that a revised timetable will be running on the West Wight service on Sunday 18th August as a result of an essential crew member being absent.

Despite having 2 days’ notice, Wightlink has been unable to seek an alternative solution.

All affected customers have been contacted and moved to alternative sailings.

A spokesperson for the ferry firm has said:

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this action will cause but we have been unable to source short notice cover for the absent members of staff and so have taken this action as a last resort.

“We apologise sincerely for any changes to your travel plans”.

There were cancellations on the Yarmouth route last Sunday too, with a number of evening sailings pulled.
