FRIDAY TRAVEL DISRUPTION AS WIGHTLINK STRUGGLES WITH STAFFING AGAIN

Wightlink will be running a revised timetable on its Fishbourne-Portsmouth route tomorrow (Friday) due to the absence of yet another essential crew member.

Staffing troubles will once again impact the cross-Solent firm’s operation as tourists flock to the Isle of Wight for what is forecast to be a hot weekend.

It comes just days after a lack of available staff resulted in disruption on the same route.

A spokesperson for Wightlink has said:

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this action will cause but we have been unable to source short notice cover for the absent members of staff and so have taken this action as a last resort.”
